Coach CK Akonnor Drags Ghana FA To CAS

Information reaching us is that ex-coach of Ghana Black Stars CK Akonnor has reported the Ghana Football Association to Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for unlawfully termination of his contract and demands $700,000 in total as compensation.

The coach born Charles Kwablan Akonnor was seen the exit after losing to South Africa in the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier in Johannesburg as head coach.

According to reports gathered by Kumasi-based Akoma FM, CK Akonnor believe the GFA didn’t treat him well and as such he is seeking $300,000 in damages, $350,000 as salary arrears and $50,000 as a signing on fee.

The former Black Stars captain and coach of Accra Hearts of Oak recorded four victories in 10 appearances as Black Stars coach but was sacked together with his assistants David Duncan and Patrick Greveraars.

His position has been taken over by former Black Stars coach Milovan Rajevac.
