Astute football administer Alhaji Grusah has given a vivid account about his recent meeting with Ghanaian player Mohammed Salisu.

The Southampton player was contacted by the Ghana FA over his availability to be included in the Ghana squad the ongoing 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon but he turned the offer down due to past experiences.

Due to that the owner of Kumasi-based football club King Faisal Alhaji Grusah was tasked by the Ghana Football Association to speak to him if he can change his mind.
According to him after his meeting with the young player he told him he is not ready to play and also advice he Grusah to stay out of such issues.

“The Black Stars Chairman tasked me to speak to Salisu because he’s from Kumasi. I called his dad & he linked me to him. Salisu flatly told me to stay away from his matter. He questioned me that if he was my son, would I advise him to play for Ghana?”
Alhaji Grunsah speaking on Atinka FM: I’m not the only person who has spoken to him. I know CK Akunnor went to him, he said he won’t play. Even the GFA President said he found where his mother stays and went to her. I don’t know what happened but the Salisu is not ready to play“
“He was angry when I called him. He insisted several times that I should stay out of the matter because he doesn’t want to have any problem with me. I’m not going to involve myself in his matter again. I don’t know the problem he has with the GFA but I will not call him again“.
Mohammed Salisu Abdul Karim is a Ghanaian professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Premier League club Southampton.
Salisu 22-year-old started his senior career with Valladolid, featuring for the reserve side before making his first team debut in 2019.
